Sarah Richman is an American speculative fiction author, short story writer, and poet. She has written two young adult books, The Cheat and Family Ties, for hire through Lerner Publishing Group’s Darby Creek imprint. Her shorter fiction and poetry are published in literary magazines across the United States and Scotland. Sarah holds a BA in Creative Writing and International Studies from Macalester College, where she wrote and directed sketch comedy. She is currently completing an MFA in Creative Writing at City St George’s, University of London.
Sarah has written, taught, and worked all over the world—everything from teaching creative writing for adults with developmental disabilities in Minnesota, getting teens excited about English grammar in Costa Rica, doing science communications in Ghana, and managing PR for Fortune 500 tech companies in Washington, D.C.
She spent seven years running communications for youth writing nonprofit 826DC. That role also involved managing a combination magic shop and bookstore, which was incredibly fun.
When Sarah isn't writing or reading, she enjoys traveling, volunteering at her local animal shelter, drinking tea, and watching entirely too much television.
